Singapore Democrats

The Lees dropped two bombshells in court today. The first was an application to put a guillotine time on the cross-examination of them.

At the start of the session, Mr Davinder Singh made the application for the Judge to stop the questioning of Mr Lee Hsien Loong at 11:30 am. He also said that Mr Lee Kuan Yew must not be questioned for more than two hours.

The defendants were flabbergasted and rose to remind the Judge that the allotted time for the hearing was three days until 28 May 08 (tomorrow). Only one day had elapsed.

Judge Belinda Ang ruled in the plaintiffs' favour.

Then came a bigger surprise. At around 12 noon, Mr Lee Kuan Yew walked into the courtroom, just when Mr Lee Hsien Loong's cross-examination was coming to an end.

Mr Davinder Singh then told the court that the Minister Mentor had just arrived to testify. But he also had an “important matter” to attend to in the afternoon and wanted the session to continue through lunchtime to end at 2:15 pm.

What about lunch? Too bad. Everybody just had to wait until Mr Lee senior finished testifying.

"This is bizarre," Dr Chee objected to no avail. “At least tell us what this important matter is.”

Mr Singh refused to tell and Judge Ang did not ask. Again, she ruled in the plaintiff's favour.

This is probably the first time court sat through lunchtime to hear a case because one of the parties had insisted that he had an "important matter" but refused to say what the matter was. (Oh yes, there was a ten minute break for Ms Chee to get some food because she had to take her medication.)

During the cross-examination of Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Dr Chee repeatedly asked him to not hide behind his lawyer and answer the questions put to him. Mr Singh objected to almost every question put to his client, questions regarding the GIC, HDB, CPF, NKF, ministers' pay and so on. Judge Ang upheld them. (A list of the questions the Prime Minister avoided answering will be published in due course.)

“You can tell your lawyer right here and now that you want to answer my questions,” Dr Chee pointed out. The Prime Minister stole a glance at Mr Singh and remained silent.

“Let me warn you Mr Lee that you and your father's moral standing to rule Singapore is at stake. I ask that you re-consider your application to impose a guillotine time,” Dr Chee added.

At one point, Mr Singh, probably out of desperation, interjected: “As counsel, I made the decision!”

“Without your client's approval how can you do that?” Dr Chee replied, adding that Mr Singh was putting his client in a bad light.

Mr Lee Hsien Loong remained stoic and silent.

When Mr Lee Kuan Yew took the stand, Dr Chee repeated the same remarks urging the Minister Mentor to not curtail the time for his cross-examination.

"Tell Mr Singh not to object to my questions and that you want to answer them," Dr Chee told Mr Lee senior.

He reminded the MM of his own boast: "If you defame us, we're prepared to sue you, go into the witness box and be cross-examined. You can brief the best lawyers and demolish us. If I'm involved, I go to the witness box. And you can question me, not only on the particular defamatory issue, but all issues in my life."

Dr Chee also reminded the MM that his and his government's moral standing was at stake if he continued to insist on truncating the cross-examination time. Like his son, Mr Lee also refused to allow the defendants the time allotted.

So much for the blather about you-can-question-me-on-all-issues-in-my-life.

What happen in court is so predictable, only thing unpredictable is how low they are willing to go to escape cross examination.

Well done Dr Chee & Ravi, they may win in the end, but you sure gave them a bloody nose. No more walk over or summary judgment crab. Let's slug it out.

Their true colors are showing and it's not White.

alot of it is sour grapes on the part of chee if u ask me. maybe lky is right, maybe chee is a psycho
• Mr Joe
People in Singapore are trying their best to live and cope with higher prices for practically everything... from Food to Fuel to Transport and we have our leaders fighting for their ownselves. We're very obedient people. Was asking my friends if they remember what our PM/MM sued the SDP for and they have practically don't know and don't care. More worried about how they are going to feed themselves. We're not at the brink of starvation but we're slowly getting there...
• Oversea Singaporean - Consider translating this Website to Chinese
This is an excellent website, with a lot of great information that has been suppressed by the local media. However, the information are only available in English. There is a significant portion of the older Singaporean generation who are primarily Chinese speaking, and have no access to such information.

Here's a suggestion. Any possibility of recruiting some Chinese speakers and translating the website? Another alternative solution is to use the English to Chinese translator from website like http://dictionary.reference.com/translate/ to get a draft translation first. You will still need human effort to clean up the translation, but it will save considerable amount of time.

The non-English speaking public needs to know the truth. They are waiting. Please help!!!
• Mimi and XXIN - Shame on Lees
Let's hope the whole democratic world gets a rare chance to see how the Lees are tackled by SDP, using their Singh mouth-piece and memorised scripted replies in the Lees High Court where it's mission is :To establish and maintain a world class judiciary! What a joke!

and please also remember that the SDP are FELLOW SINGAPOREANS too.
As govt, you should always be kind and help your own citizens, especially they are the ones who constantly gives Constructive Feedbacks to improve the country's policies..

Or maybe it is sour grapes on LKY's part? LKY don't have the balls to even stand up to his own words?

LKY said, "If you defame us, we're prepared to sue you, go into the witness box and be cross-examined. You can brief the best lawyers and demolish us. If I'm involved, I go to the witness box. And you can question me, not only on the particular defamatory issue, but all issues in my life."

Chee may or may not be a psychopath, but you are definitely a psychopant.

• North - Is Chee seeking revenge
Just want to share my 2 cents worth. I am an average Singapore, just trying to make a decent living. Looking around our neigbhours, I think Singapore is in a much better state. Honestly, I think the government has done a decent job, considering the lack of resources and small country. Will Dr Chee's past and present actions do any good for fellow Singaporeans? I don't know, I can see any good that can come out from his actions.
• g_e - LKY: If only CSJ were my son...!
Some general observations.

[1] The claimed impartiality of S'pore's courts now lies in shreds for all to see. LKY's bulldozing grand entrance, the High Court's cowed submissiveness to the Lees' demands, Honourable Judge Belinda Ang's nervously twitching floppy ears, these demonstrate all too clearly that S'pore's system of justice has been dragged through the mud and now plumbs new depths.

[2] Dr. Chee's standing in S'porean eyes has risen immeasurably with this performance. For someone untrained in the art of courtroom fisticuffs to carry the fight to the might of the Establishment and have them continually on the defensive is some doing - especially with one-and-a-half hands tied behind his back. Even non-supporters would concede grudging admiration.

[3] Harry Lee secretly admires and appreciates Dr. Chee's indomitable spirit, though he would never publicly admit to it. They have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at him and yet he's got up every time, still a thorn in their side, still returning fire.

CSJ is now battle-hardened and LKY must regret having mollycoddled his own side to such an extent that they've become feeble political weaklings unable to find their own buttocks with both hands and a flashlight.

[4] In his heart, Harry knows that CSJ is his true heir. But he also knows that he's too old now to try to turn back the clock and set things right.

[5] The only thing the Lees have won is the contempt of their citizens for their blatant disregard of the law.

• Yoong Kheong
What are the exact questions posed to the plaintiffs? Only when these questions are exposed word for word, can we then appreciate whether there is deliberate avoidance of answering in the part of MM and PM. If questions posed are irrelevant or require confidentiality, then there is no wrong in the refusal to answer.

• Chan - LKY did a good job but ....
No doubt, LKY did a good job bringing Singapore to what it is today. However, in the long run, he and his legacy will ultimately ruin the country. Its the same with Indonesia's Suharto. A successful government is one that allow changes to happen when the former becomes complacent and incompetent. Just like commercial companies that come and go, consumers do not suffer because they have a choice. If Sony does not perform, then switch to Samsung. If Chevy does not produce good cars, then buy a Honda. However, what happens if the government does not perform? Is there a viable opposition? In Singapore, there is NONE. Why? Not because there aren't opposition, but the PAP suppresses the growth of opposition parties and leave the people without choice. In the US, such actions will be classified as anti-competitive acts and you can bring the party, company to court (a real court of law). It happened to AT&T and it nearly happened to Microsoft.

So, in the long run, Singapore will have to meet its end just like Indonesia. The leaders becomes incompetent, they ignore problems till bread and butter issues becomes such a problem that the people will riot. Soon after that, the government will be overthrown. Only then, will a new government take over and the cycle begins again, just like the olden Chinese dynasties.
• Michael Chan - What actually happened and what ST will report..
I was actually in MY during the hustings prior to the 8.3.08 GE. I read both the printed media like NST and the Star(owned indirectly by the BN) as well as the alternative online media like Malaysiakini, Malaysia-Today, Jeff Ooi's blog. And I had a real shock...were these 2 media reporting from 2 different countries having their GEs during the same time coincidentally?
Who was telling it as had happened accurately and who was censoring/embellishing/tweaking the reality? Then the unprecedented GE results came on 9.3.08 and it was reported factually that much more Malaysians were reading the online media than the staid mainstream printed papers.
Although I did not attend yesterday's historical fight of the century between 2 arch-enemies, the Chief Autocrat vs the Chief Democrat, I was given a blow-by-blow eye-witness account by 2 who did last night. I suggest to readers to await these verbal exchanges as they happened in this blog to be posted soon.
Don't accept the ST's version as the gospel truth. It has happened in MY and it will happen here soon...people will turn to the Internet for the truth rather than the mainstream media.
A word of advice to the establishment....You can whack and whack but if your victim is resilient and battle-hardened and does not die of his wounds, he will rise up time and again like the Phoenix stronger and cleverer than ever!
• thinktok - Dr Chee, Good bye

Chee and sister should be happy at least they got a chance to look into their eyes.
How sad and pathetic? You are wasting our nation's time.
• singaporean
PM, SM, MM and WKS are all liars. CSJ may have a bad reputation to the 66.6%, but CSJ has my full respect and support. Singapore needs more people like CSJ. As an average Singaporean, I need to keep my job and feed my family, so I got no balls to do what CSJ did, like many others. If you are reading this CSJ and company, I want to say Thank You and let you know that you have supporters online who will use their vote at the next GE to do register their annoyance with the PAP junta.
• valdez
Hello K, 66% of the electorate are either stupid, selfish or ignorant. This is a fact no not just limited to S'pore. If everyone is smart and clever, there won't be any dictators in this world.

Hello Hmm. Without a doubt S'pore can be quite the envy for less well-off nations. But this is a political defamation suit. The issue is one of political hegemony and oppression, and not some economic dispute. As Davindar will likely say to you, "your point is Irrelevant!" Hahaha.

Likewise LKY was also irrelevant when he said many admired the S'pore system. They were certainly not admiring the lack of democracy, political freedom, and media freedom in S'pore.

• MIke - CSJ is no longer credible
why do people still think that CSJ represents democracy for Singapore?

Remember about 15 years ago that CSJ fasted for his conscience because of the allegation of him claiming too much transport fees from NUS and postage fee for his wife's thesis.

Then he stopped the fast becasue cannot tahan and thought of only either Chay Kway Teow or Chay Tao Kway.

That time he was fighting Dr Vasoo, a former MP and also his NUS boss.

Then now CSJ had progressed to fight the PM and MM.

Limelight for CSJ but at what cost?

His Taiwanese wife and his three children have a bankrupt father.

But for what?

CSJ should be more useful and better loved by Singaporeans if he had been a volunteer worker in old folk homes or try to raise funds for the poor.

But now, in deep shit himself.

Any regrets?

I feel that Chee's bulldoze approach is not tactical enough and that's y he got himself into this mess.

How can u possibly win the FamiLEE when the fighting ground is not level? They have control over everything.

But i got to admit that he has got the guts that majority of us do not have and i really admire him for that.

His sacrifice will not be in vain.

Even though he lost, it allowed us to see more clearly now. (except for those who believe in the propaganda bull on our mass media) Those underhand means by the LEEs to maintain power. *Sigh*
• Maximillian Chew - KASI TAKUT!
I was in the SPF for 30 years. We call that kind of empty threat "Kasi Takut".( Mahjongking's post refers).Really? You really want to take action against "defamatory" postings in the Internet? Well, for the past 2-3 years, www.yoursdp.org and www.singaporedissident (amongst hundreds' others) have been posting very "defamatory" stuff about LKY, LHL, GCT and all their cronies. So far there has been no reaction at all from the powers-that-be, not a squeak. In fact, the blogger behind S'pore Dissident Mr Gopalan Nair , an American lawyer is right now here in S'pore to attend the Lees vs Chees hearings. And he's awaiting for some action.

So it's nothing but an empty threat/boast hoping it will scare the daylights out of bloggers desiring to post their opinions now and in the future. Is this a first-world democratic country or what?
As cops here will say...."KASI TAKUT SE-JAR LAH!"
• Gary Teoh
tohjohn, you are right. We have wasted 2 years doing NS for nothing. Many locals can't enter Uni because more than 20% of the places are reserved for foreigners.Imagine I have a friend, he has A,B&C grades in his A levels, and just rejected by local Uni.I ask him to finish the NS first, after that go overseas and dont come back. His grades are not that bad, and he can't enter Uni, I think is because the places are reserved for foreign students. So you see, what is the use of serving NS,better give up the pink IC and save 2 years, migrate to US or Canada.

I only have one comment. Chee is nutcase.
Should hold him in comtempt of court for wasting (we) tax payer's money. What cross-examination? How much of his cross-examination is related to the defamation issue? I am glad to know that the conscience is still there for those Singaporean who voted him down. His contesting messages has no substance, just contest to oppose and hoping that the majority of Singaporean buy his idea. Oh yes, if you asked me, I am neither a PAP supporter nor do I care what the opposition does. I vote for credibility of that contestant that will serve the country well because fundamentally, it affects us all to vote someone with their credibility and integrity in question. Party has no reference or meaning to this. That does not mean mistakes can't be made by the credible people voted in becos afterall they are human beings just like anyone of us. However, the difference is they care and they stand corrected. Most importantly, they do not fabricate stories to support their unfounded cause and accusation. "人格是不能冒犯的“。怎能相信一个对“基本道德观念“都没有的人呢?You want to talk about freedom of speech? Freedom of choice? Democracy? Find me a country with the really practice this without any governing rules. What is the true meaning of the word FREE? It's like some people will say, we are born equal. Get real! in this world, there isn't such thing as equal and fair. Think again!

• g_e - To Mike - Love, LKY.
Dear, dear Mike, your sincere concern for CSJ, his family, old folks, and the poor, touched my heart so I felt it my duty to send you these comforting words:

"If we are to survive as a free democracy, then we must be prepared, in principle, to concede to our enemies - even those who do not subscribe to our views - as much constitutional rights as you concede yourself.”

- Opposition leader Lee Kuan Yew, Legislative Assembly Debates, Sept 21, 1955

“We have to lock up people, without trial, whether they are communists, whether they are language chauvinists, whether they are religious extremists. If you don’t do that, the country would be in ruins.”

- Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, 1986

However tough the environment, at least they face the Lees gentlemanly.

Yes, we keep talking about country's progress .

We should ask all the sinkaporeans a few questions, "Is your life getting better under PAP and do you look for some small money and upgrading forget the bigger picture every five years ?" Is this what life all about?

Your children have space to kick football, fly kites, play marble, walk their dogs, and your elderly parents got space to do strolling or jogging, play with grandchildren, hear birds sing among the trees? HDB flats big deal??? The flyer overlooking all the HDB houses big deal?

At this rate, there would be nothing left for our next local generation.

Of course, if you benefit from the PAP establishment, when you start finding the void-deck space is stifling, you could emigrate with your big savings account but what about the huge poorer people who depends on aluminium cans and cardboards.

From my heart, i still believe DR Chee and friends are the victors until THE COUNTRY"S RESERVES, GIC, and TEMASICK are independantly audited and made public.

Of course if you compare DR Chee to many PAP MPs speaking on stage in a convincing way, i of course vote for an articulate person who can speak better.

Mike, I think you misunderstand the situation in Singapore. It is wrong to say any person or organisation represents democracy in Singapore, because we do not have democracy in Singapore.

We KNOW he is fighting hard for democracy to take root in Singapore. Because he is taking the fight to the structural level. That can be the only way.

Your ideas of working at old folks home and raising funds for the poor are noble, but with the PAP so entrenched, it is almost impossible to effect meaningful changes through piecemeal work.

Of course, if all the changes you want is to install new lifts at your block (and live happily ever after), then by all means go do things bit by bit without antagonizing the PAP.

On the other hand, if we are talking meaningful and long lasting changes, we need to try to effect changes at the structural level.

By the way, are you happy with the PAP because the lifts stop at every floor at your block? Never mind if jobs are going away to 'foreign talents'. Never mind if workers' wages are not adjusted according to rising costs of living. Never mind if we are vulnerable to short-sighted policies because no one dares criticise the PAP. The lifts stop at every floor at your block so the nation can live happily ever after.

Do the Lees have any integrity left after taking $million discount from Hotel Properties on purchased of multiple apartments in Nassim Jade and Scotts 28 ? Remember this was at the height of the property boom in the early 90's where people queue onite to buy property to make immediate substantial profit. Why did they gave up the discount after huge public outcry ? Lee Kuan Yew's younger brother was a director of Hotel Properties. Lee Kuan Yew in his defence of his and his son's actions in Parliament stated that his Nassim Jade apartment was for him to live out his old age as his house in Oxley Rise has stairs which is dangerous for old people. Did he carry out his intention ? He also claimed that the properties were bought as a tax minimization measures. This raised plenty of eyebrows and adverse comments even amongst the pap mps including one pap minister Ailine Wong who came from HK. Not surpring that he was eventually droped from the cabinet and parliament. Lee Kuan Yew has three meetings with Goh Chok Tong at the Instana on this issue. What was discuss and agreed upon only they and god know. Could it be related to Goh Chok Tong staying beyond his intended 10 years as PM ? In any first world democracy, such actions would have resulted in them being forced to resign and maybe even charged for corruption. Only in Singapore where the Lees have absolute control that they can do what they like.

Continue where M Ravi failed to give the Killer Punch in the most prominent publication of his Questions : Q1 : So, you had assistants to bring to your attention the New Democrat after two months. Yes or no?
A : Yes

A : Yes
Q3 : There are statements or articles put up at blogs or websites that are in accordance to your view defamatory. For instance this extract from Sammyboy blog or website. Is it correct that you did not sue them for defamation?
A : Yes or NO (I am not aware of these statements or articles)
Q4 : Surely your apparatus or assistants would have brought them to your attention. Do you agree?
A : Agree (Or Disagree)
Q5 : Suggest to you that you had known about these "equally disparaging" (quote and unquote) articles or statements.
Q6 : Instead you chose to sue Dr Chee, Chee Siok Chin and SDP and not them. Is that right?
A : Yes
Q7 : Dr Chee, Chee Siok Chin and SDP are the opposition and therefore, your political opponents, is that right?
A : Yes
Q8 : Then surely the present defamation suit against Dr Chee, Chee Siok Chin and SDP was taken up because they were your political opponents. Do you agree or disagree?
A : Disagree
Q9 : Given the status of the Defendants as Opposition Politicians, I therefore put / suggest to you that the present defamation suit was politically motivated. Agree or disagree.
A : Disagree

Lee had grown to love repression and he had described it well in 1956.

"Repression, Sir is a habit that grows. I am told it is like making love-it is always easier the second time! The first time there may be pangs of conscience, a sense of guilt. But once embarked on this course with constant repetition you get more and more brazen in the attack. All you have to do is to dissolve organizations and societies and banish and detain the key political workers in these societies. Then miraculously everything is tranquil on the surface. Then an intimidated press and the government-controlled radio together can regularly sing your praises, and slowly and steadily the people are made to forget the evil things that have already been done, or if these things are referred to again they're conveniently distorted and distorted with impunity, because there will be no opposition to contradict." -Lee Kuan Yew as an opposition PAP member speaking to David Marshall, Singapore Legislative Assembly, Debates, 4 October, 1956

Quote 1 3

This must be from one of those of those Chinese-medium schools, ya? beacuse only those SAPpers would sing le Lees' praises like that.

Days were when Chinese High and the rest of the Chinese-medium schoolers provided the most vocal - even militant - opposition to le Lees.

But they've since been cowed, after a few crackdowns. Singaporeans are after all, a bunch of cowed cowardly cows, I'm sorry to observe as a long-time outsider looking in.

All talk but no action. Or was it No Action, Talk Only - NATO?

Anyways, for the benefit of this cheena-graduate who has put up such a typically Singaporean-like unintelligent post, here's my history education note to him/her:

Singapore Dissident Numero Uno (for the year of our Lord 2008) wrote in his blogged reply to a certain Edwin Soh:
"What Lee has done over 4o years is this ... he has managed to build up this concrete jungle ...because Singapore has good infra structure, good telephones, transport and cleanliness..."

Let this be said - if it has not been said before - here and now, once and for all:
SINGAPORE WASN'T, WAS NEVER, BUILT UP FROM 1965 ONWARDS - PLEASE STOP HAVING MEMORY LAPSES, GOONS OF THIS WORLD.

SINGAPORE ALREADY HAD IN PLACE GOOD INFRASTRUCTURE OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATION LINES, PROPER LEGAL AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEMS,ETC, ETC, WELL BEFORE THE OPPORTUNISTS (COMPRISING MAINLY THE CHINESE IMMIGRANTS AND SPECIFICALLY THE 'JEWS' AMONG THAT BUNCH) DECIDED TO DO A COPYCAT OF WHAT WAS SO FASHIONABLE BACK THEN IN POST-WWII 60s IN THE WORLD AMONG COLONIAL JURISDICTIONS (I.E. TO ACHIEVE 'INDEPENDENCE', TO CUT THE UMBILICAL CORD, TO BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS IT, SO TO SPEAK).

MEN AND OFFICERS OF HER MAJESTY'S EMPIRE PUT UP AND PUT IN WORKABLE AND EFFICENT SYSTEMS IN EACH AND EVERY AND ALL THE LANDS THEY HAD COME TO CALL THEIR OWN - MIND YOU, THEY USUALLY DID NOT HAVE TO FIGHT AND DECIMATE THE NATIVES (LIKE WHAT POLITICIANS DO NOWADAYS, FIGURATIVLEY SPEAKING) BUT PAY DUES TO GREEDY AND MYOPIC, IMPOTENT KINGS AND SHEIKS OF THOSE GOD-FORSAKEN BACKWATERS - AND HAD LEFT SUCH GEMS AND GREAT LEGACIES BEHIND FOR THESE NATION-WANNABEES BUT WHICH WERE ULTIMATELY ABUSED AND PLUNDERED AND LEFT BEREFT OF EVERYTHING RESEMBLING ANYTHING GOOD THAT THE SOCALLED COLONIALS HAD SO PAINSTAKINGLY CREATED!

SO, YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN OUT THERE, IN CASE YOU DO NOT KNOW YOUR HISTORY - EXCEPT FOR EVENTS LIKE LADY DI DIED IN A CRASH WITH HER MOSLEM LOVER IN 1997 (OR DID YOU NOT EVEN KNOW THAT, AS SUSPECTED?) -
GO SEEK KNOWLEDGE FROM YOUR WISE OLD GRANNY - IF SHE'S STILL ALIVE AND HAS NOT DEAD YET FROM OVEREXHAUSTION AFTER MONTHS AND YEARS OF PICKING AND COLLECTING OLD NEWSPAPAERS CARDBOARD AND EMPTY DRINKS CANS (PLUS GOD KNOWS WHAT OTHE TRASH IN ORDER TO SNARE THAT TREASUED $2 PLATE OF CHICKEN TO SURVIVE, IN ORDER TO GO ON PICKING UP AND COLLECTING MORE OLD NEWSPAPERS & CARDBOARD, DRINKS CANS AND YES, ALL MANNER OF TRASH) -
GO ASK HER IF GEORGE V, AND LATER HEIS DAUGHTER QE2, DID NOT TREAT ITS SUBJECTS MORE HUMANELY THAN NOW, OR AT THE VERY LEAST, LIFE WAS SO MUCH BETTER, EVERYTHING AFFORDABLE, NO HOUNDS RUNNING YOU DOWN FOR BLOOD (MONEY) IN EVERY LITTLE THING YOU DID, ETC, ETC.

AND IF ANYTHING HAD GONE AMISS BACK THEN, AT LEAST YOU COULD TURN UP IN YOUR PIGTAILS AND SAMFOOS OR TATTERED COOLIE CLOTHES AT THE GOVERNOR'S RESIDENCE TO PROTEST (UNLIKE NOW, WHEN YOU CAN'T EVEN GO OUT WITH FIVE OTHER PALS AS THAT'LL MEAN AN ASSEMBLY OF 5 OR MORE) AND MAKE YOUR VOICE AND ISSUES HEARD!

SO THAT WHEN YOU ELT WRONGED, YOU COULD ALSO AT LEAST PLAY THE BULLIED MIGRANT AND SHOUT: "DISCRIMINATION! RACISM!! INJUSTICE!!!"

NOW YOU CAN'T DO THAT IF AN WHEN YOU WISH TO SEEK REDRESS FOR UNFAIRNESS AND INJUSTICE.

BECAUSE IT'S YOUR OWN KIND WHO'S SITING PRETTY RIGHT AT THE TOP  BULLYING YOU :D

AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT  :s EXCEPT TO SHUT YOUR TRAP UP AND KEEP MUM.

FOR THE REST OF YOUR BLOODY MISERABLE LIFE   !

BECAUSE YOU AND/OR YOUR FATHERS,M OTHERS, UNCLES, AUNTS - YOUR ENTIRE CLAN - COMMITED THE CARDINAL SIN OF CLAMORING FOR 'INDEPENDENCE'

How else do you explain entrusting Philip with billions to set up - and oftentimes squander away all, if not most, of those billions we so painstakingly earn to pay in GST - Bio-this, Bio-that?

It's in the hope - no, not to become the world's preeminent center of excellence in life sciences, earn trillions for Singapore (which, in any case, won't benefit you and I in the finality of things anyway) - of a breakthrough that'll seek to prolong his and his family's longevity to prolong even longer their STRANGLEHOLD on Singaporeans!

But poor Old Empress Dowager - she won't have that good fortune of living out long enough to secure the exclusive elixir they so crave for her - it's in exchange, a deal made with Heavens (you know that family is good at CUTTING un-mentionable deals), for their prolonged reign on this God-forsaken little rock.

She won't live past Aug 9, and definitely not the day the young MIT graduate-lieutenant comes home to inherit throne. That's for certain, looking at what's been (not) reported so far.

(Just as Comrade Xiaoping didn't live long enough to see out his wish of Hongkong back in the folds of the Great Fatherland.)

For all we know, they might already be secretly preparing for Funeral Royale - and we poor things got to sponsor that too. If not directly, then ultimately, that's a given; that family is a worse freeloader than the FTs sponging off us!

There you have it: THE TRUTH!

If even an elixir could not be found to make The Old Fox live on for ever, you'd be darn sure he'd be contented to have himself cloned - scary thought, huh - and that's already a possibility in today's world.

The Koreans have successfully done it, more than once - and Dr Hwang would be more than glad to lay his hands on a few millions to do it for him - making copies of DOGS.

Whose DNAs aren't that very different from that famiLEE's.

There a movie called Lord of the Ring part 3: Return of the King and a character named Smittle. Now correct me if I am wrong.LKY looks like the father of that animated character in his picture.
Sorry I haven't been to the movies, bought or rented a DVD/VCD or read the papers for ages
- can ill-afford any of these 'once-essentials' but luxuries ever since I got retrenched first and then fell irreoverably since 1997 -
so I can't say for certain if there's a resemblance (although I think those creations made in the Auckland studios were made imposibly ugly to achieve cinematic effect)
but one thing I do know:
