From the positive feedback that we received of our pre-election rally held a few weeks ago, the Party has decided to go ahead with Rally2. Many who attended our first rally told us that they would like to see another similar event held as it helped to keep the opposition's message alive for the elections. We agree.
The SDP Pre-Election Rally2 will take place on 13 Nov 10 (Sat). The objective of this rally remains unchanged: To reach out and get our message across to the electorate. The difference is that it will be bigger and better.
The programme will be even more exciting and we will be introducing new speakers. Most importantly we will be launching our Alternative Economic Programme at this rally which will be the centre-piece of our campaign in the coming general elections. The Programme contrasts the Singapore Democrats' economic vision with the PAP's.
Rally2 will also continue to emphasize on the youth in Singapore. Never have we had so many young people show such an interest in what we're doing. To ensure that we engage them at this rally the Young Democrats will come up with an even more exciting segment.
The new found enthusiasm among the youth wanting to see political change is infectious within the SDP and we want it to spread all around Singapore. The creative energy is beginning to show itself in the things that we do and a new SDP is slowly but surely emerging in Singapore's politics.
And yes, there'll be lots of food. So come hungry, let's have plenty of rights with our rice and freedom with our fries.
There'll also be lots of entertainment to keep everyone occupied. We're planning activities for participants that will help us make even more prominent our campaign message. Who says that politics need to be dour and left only to politicians? Democracy must be a people's activity and we want Sinaporeans to play an active role in the rally.
As for the logistical preparations, we took away with us some aspects of our organisation from our first rally that we felt needed improvement. We will make up ground and organise an even better event, one that is worthy of your attendance and participation.
We are determined to live up to our creed of a competent political party where we constantly improve on what we are doing and where our best performance is always the next one.
But you know what is going to be the best part of the rally? Danny our Democracy Bear will be there! And you know that where Danny goes, candy follows. So mums and dads, bring the little ones along. Be there, meet Bear. It's going to be an afternoon of lots of fun, tons of food, and one furry friend!
So lock down the date: 13 November 2010, Saturday, starting at 4 pm. See you!

April Fool
It seems the good has become better; and better, even better.
Whilst PAP has run out of ideas, and administrative machinery in sixes and sevens, evidenced by the recent YOG. SDP, on the other hand, is gaining from faith to faith; strength to strength.

whjho - YOG No 2
Since this event was and will be attending by many youth, call it YOG2
which is run with low budget (definiltey not an further increase of S$360 million), spontaneous response and no traffic jam to Spore.
Do measure your forecast and actual expenditure to see if maybe delta is S$3.60 or S$2.XX (historical linked to CSJ).

joanna - On the right track
Yes, SDP need to continue to have rallies, walkabouts, door-to-door meeting with residents.
This is very important as SDP needs to *maintain* presence and visibility withing each of the constituencies.
SDP is therefore on the right track and I am very pleased that SDP is staging a bigger and better rally this time.

Clear eyed
One wise old (and extremely well-paid) man proclaimed that only millions of $$$ can get you talent. But SDP seems to prove him wrong. It manages to attract into its ranks creative and talented individuals without having to pay them anything. Just compare the organisation of YOG and SDP rally for a simple example.

Does Goh Chok Tong, and quite possibly the entire ruling party, already know of the latest electoral boundaries ahead of the rest of Singapore, and especially opposition parties? Singaporeans were previously assured otherwise previously.
THREE first-term MPs in Marine Parade GRC have been asked by their team leader, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, to prepare for the possibility of standing in a single-seat constituency at the next general election.
They are Mr Seah Kian Peng (Braddell Heights), Mr Lim Biow Chuan (Mountbatten) and Dr Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim (Kaki Bukit).

All the opposition party should unite for a common goal as had happened in Malaysia to defeat the PAP once and for all. Put aside all of your differences, just tolong ah be united under a single banner and denied the PAP of their 2/3 majority and changed the current system for the benefits of all true blood Singaporeans. The people must come first and kick out all the outsiders. Lower the cost of living and make places for local Singapore students at our local polys and Unis. We don't have the money to go oversea. Please SDP unite with the rest of the opposition parties and fight for us. We are the true citizen of this nation and we want to stay till we die here. If Anwar can unite the opposition even with PAS and DAP, I believe and trust that Dr Chee is able to do it with SDA, Reform, workers and the rest of the opposition party. A common goal. The rest of the differences put aside first before Singapore become a 3rd China, 2nd Philippines, 2nd Burma and 2nd India. We just want to be us the Singapore that we know. Once they become the majority, we are into huge problems and they will change everything. Who knows that its us that will be asked to leave.
