Seriously, Cheng should go for it and let PAP die of heart attack. We need more people like you in parl and less of those greedy monsters that make life a nightmare for us. We want Vincent! We want Vincent!

My wish for this Xmas is a very simple things. 1st SDP and opposition to Give that greedy senile old man a heart attack and packed him in a box to meet the maker straightaway. 2nd, Get rid of all PAP people for good and make them pay and give back all of our money. 3rd Send home all these foreigners especially these PRCs, phillipinos families and Indian nationals for good. 4th reduce the cost of living for good. 5th Give our locals students back the places in Universities, polys and scholarships back to our locals students regardless of race or religion. 6th stop racial discrimination in Singapore especially to the Malays. Every race to have a fair share of everything and lastly 7th change the present system in Singapore!!!! No more a single party state and no more dictator for Singapore. I hope that SDP and opposition can fulfil my wish.

If you snip off the first and last 30 secs of this video, and ignore plastic tree prop in the background, you would NOT have imagined that this video has anything to do with Christmas.

It would just be another typical, repetitive and tired cry-freedom-cry-rights video from SDP that we have often see before.

VC says that Singapore is inundated by all sorts of injustices. And as peace and justice are two sides of the same coin, the country can't be enjoying any semblance of peace right now.

To do so, VC would really have to stretch the meaning of the word "Peace" to its max.

But let's be frank, VC is just using the tenuous connection between peace and justice for him to launch into his tirade about the injustices that he sees, or what he was told to talk about by SDP for the video.

That is exactly why almost the entire video does not even looks as if it has anything to do with Christmas!

Yeah.. there is no peace in Singapore. It is a psychological abuse by PAP towards Singapore citizens. Brains ruined and manipulated via its system. Emotional torture at work by PAP. That's why so many committed suicide coz they thought they are facing this alone due to PAP's grip on SPH to make as if there's no hope for change.

This was not the peace that VC was talking about.

In fact, VC did not any justice to Christmas because in the entire video, there was not a single word about Christ's birth, angels singing, new born Kings, and the reconciliation between god and sinners.

All we heard about was the fluffy justice VC longs to wallow in because of the political baggage he refuses to let go.

One wonder what he brings to the political scene after the long hiatus - a bag of vitriol or hope.

Dear Vincent, thanks for your heartfelt message calling for justice and compassion in our society. My wish for the New Year is that the voice of sanity and compassion, as exemplified by you, will grow into a tide so huge and strong that it will drown out and banish the greed and selfishness which seemd to have taken root here, especially among those holding power. May there be true peace and justice in our country.

Seelan has said it correctly. Why must PAP sow discord among all the races. Can't we engage and learn from each other instead of sweeping everything under the carpet? Knowing and understanding each other race and pratices are good for Singapore as it will create understanding and close friendship. The thing I see here is that what LKY and PAP is doing is a very simple thing. Create a vaccum between races and hope that if anything goes wrong, they have a pounching bag to deceive Singaporean.

BryanT seems to think that peace and justice are not linked, so assuming Vincent is right that "all sorts of injustice exist" he could be quite at "peace".

Indeed, Jesus is hailed, in the Koran, arguably as the greatest prophet in the same tradition of prophets Islam claims culminated in Mohammed, the even greater.

And even though Islam rejects the Christian doctrine that God was "incarnate in Jesus", Islam worships the same "God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob", addressing Him (blessed be His Name) as "Allah". the name of the high God of pre-Mohammed Arabia.

In seeming to worship Jesus, Christians, like Muslims, worship God or Allah, for they think God and Jesus are "one". Someday, they hope when they meet Jesus, they meet God or "Allah".

Put it another way, if God and Jesus are "one", then when Muslims meet Allah someday, then, acording to Christians, it is Jesus they also meet.

What i understand is Vincent if I am not wrong is not a Christian but Catholic. Nowhere was scriptures quoted in the video except general knowledge that Christ was born in Bethlehem.

This is the part I like about SDP instead of sweeping any misunderstnding under the carpet as what the PAP did, they brought the matter up and discuss it openly. The WHY question is discuss among all the races. At least it will create understanding and awareness among other races. Good work SDP!!! SDP for government!!! I can see that SDP is being very fair to all races. This is what I always wanted for Singapore. We don't need a government that only champion one race Rights and create distrust among the other races just for them to remain in power. The majority race shall not rule the minority races anymore in Singapore. You can see from the SAP Chinese mission schools students. Most of them are ignorant of other races Rights. I know this because I have studied in NUS and found them to even refused to sit and eat at the canteen with Malays students. Most of them look down on the Malays to the extend of not wanting to do projects with them. Whose fault? Its LKY and his PAP. And these aloof Chinese students went to become PAP ministers in the future and again the tradition of not respecting others follow. LKY had said NS will solve the problem for the males but did it? For in NS again these SAP Students are being separated from the rest by their intakes. My officer was from HCJC and he refused to eat with the Malays sergents. For the females, are hopeless totaly. You asked these students about the Malays, they don't anything except they keep on saying Malays are useless and cannot be trusted. If this does not change, Singapore is doomed with the PAP. Vote for a good future with SDP and opposition as the elected government of Singapore.

Compare Vincent's message of peace to Pope Benedict XVI (Singapore Version) to

VC Christmas message or aptly SDP's Message is clear and on its own. BUT to allude that the BIBLE support SDP's struggle against the regime is another thing.

THIS is the contentious point.

Just as SDP please STOP your allusion to scripture supporting your struggles. IF your fight against injustice cannot be "justified" on its own needing other religious scripture text to support it then this struggle is warped.

Using religion for political struggles bring about a bad after-taste and history is the judge of it.

See if you keep on accusing SDP using scripture to support their struggles fight against injustice then I think you are more warped than SDP.

The Bible stated clearly that Jesus was a Galilean if VC have quoted the bible he would first convinced you who Jesus is.
