Chee to attend Gore's presidential nomination

Dr Chee Soon Juan, Secretary-General of the Singapore
Democratic Party will be attending Mr Al Gore's nomination as the
Democratic Party's candidate in the US presidential elections which will
take place at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Los Angeles
from 13 to 17 August 2000. Dr Chee will also attend the
International Leaders Forum (ILF) which is held in conjunction with the

SDP to PM Goh: Justify ministerial pay hike

The Government has repeatedly stated that the pay hike
of its Ministers is justified by the way it handled the Asian economic
crisis. Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong challenged Singaporeans to judge

The latest statement by the Minister for Home Affairs,
Mr Wong Kan Seng, is both shocking and puerile. His remarks that
Singaporeans who are critical of the PAP system and its policies are
anti-Singapore demonstrate the political immaturity of the Government as
well as the lack of commitment to bringing democracy to this country. Criticisms
of Singapore, however strong, are not always against the interests of

Are creativity and effective management irreconcilable?
Singapore's Economic Development Board believes that good processes can
be innovation's best ally. Singapore has made a fortune by being
predictable. The city-state swears by dependability, whether it's in tap
