The Singapore Democratic Party celebratedits 30th year anniversary with a gala dinner on 27 Feb 2010. It was, indeed, a night to remember. From all of us at the SDP, we say a heartfelt thank you for helping us make our 30th birthday such a special and memorable occasion.
At least I know that these members did not join the party to get free parking coupons, or a place in a primary school etc.

Definately!!
Members here don't join SDP for their self interest.
Not like the PAP of the present, whose members are nothing but leeches latching on to get some benefits at the expense of the general public whom they are suppose to serve. Worse. Its highly paid leaders saw fit to make life miserable from their various policies.... in spite complains from the general populace.
Members in SDP risk everything for a good comfortable life for the: 1) greater freedom of people 2)true democracy for the country 3)accountability from the present regime.
SDP, I salute you
