SDP’s application for a protest march over the Burma crisis has been rejected. While citizens in other countries all over the world conduct protests against the Burmese regime, the PAP Government continues its clampdown in Singapore.
The Singapore Democrats applied last week for a permit to march from the Istana to Temasek Holdings Headquarters on Orchard Road to the Burmese embassy on St Martin’s Drive.
We received an email from the police rejecting the application (see below). No reasons were given.
The reason for the march is to protest the killings in Burma and Singapore’s involvement with the Burmese military junta.
