The short film Nation Builders produced by Mr Martyn See (maker of Singapore Rebel and Zahari’s 17 Years) was rejected by the Singapore International Film Festival because it “failed to meet its entry requirements.”
The film shows scenes of Singapore’s elderly poor as the go about their day-to-day struggles to eke out a living. His two previous films mentioned above were banned by the Government.
Mr See will submit Nation Builders to the Board of Film Censors so that it can be screened publicly. Another film Speakers Cornered is also with the Board but its fate is still unknown. Fans shouldn’t hold their breaths.
