The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) will provide Vietnamese suitable senior management officials with fellowships for the Master in Public Management 2009 programme.

The one-year programme, commencing in January 2009, aims to enhance the skills of senior managers working in the public, people and private sectors.

The school has so far provided 19 scholarships for Vietnamese most outstanding candidates working in various organisations such as the Vietnam Bank of Social Policies, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Finance and the United Nations Development Fund for Women.

“I chose to pursue a master’s degree at LKYSPP because of its international standards and co-operative relations with world renowned institutions. The school trained me to have a long and broaden view in public issues and got me connected to the future leaders of neighbouring countries,” said Nguyen Canh Cuong, Director with Directorate General for Europe, Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Established in 1992 in collaboration with Havard University’s Kennedy School of Government, LKYSPP aims to provide opportunities for the education and training of the next generation of Asian policy-makers and leaders in an effort to raise the standards of governance and improve the lives of people throughout the region.
