Singapore will provide more land and buildings for international schools to help ease a shortage for expatriate children, the Straits Times reported.

The city-state will offer space in four locations that can accommodate more than 8,000 students by 2015, the newspaper said, citing the Singapore government.

The rising population of foreigners in Singapore has resulted in a shortage of places at international schools, according to the report.

There are 38 international schools in Singapore, of which 19 use state properties, the newspaper said.
