General-Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nong Duc Manh said here on Tuesday that Vietnam’s consistent policy is to expand cooperation with Singapore for the sake of peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.
Manh’s statement was made while warmly receiving Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong who is on his official visit to Vietnam from Jan. 12 to 15.
Lee Hsien Loong said that his country will intensify the cooperation with Vietnam, especially in trade and investment.
The two leaders informed each other on social economic situation and shared experiences in navigating the national economy out of impacts of the global economic downturn.
Both leaders expressed pleasure on fine development in cooperation of trade and commerce, education, tourism and people exchanges. They agreed to boost the economic relations and traditional cooperation to a new level.
