Singapore Democrats
The Young Liberals and Democrats of Asia (YLDA) is in Singapore to conduct a workshop to train youths in organisational management. Singaporean youth activists, including the Young Democrats, will participate in the meeting.
The three-day workshop, with theme
Strategic Organizational Management: A Holistic Approach will begin on 21 May 2010 and will be attended by 30 activists and political party members from across Asia.
The objective is to provide practical training in enhancing day-to-day management of the participants’ organisations such as secretariat management, risk and conflict management, organizational accountability and transparency, networking and public relations, and event organizing.
The workshop will feature trainers in organizational management. Participants will also be asked to share their experiences in carrying out their organisation’s operations and conduct peer to peer learning.
The workshop is the first of its kind to be held in Singapore. It is a tribute to the Young Democrats who have worked diligently to bring the event to Singapore. It provides the opportunity for the SDP’s youth wing to gain experience and develop its competence.
YD Honorary Secretary Mr Jarrod Luo has been helping the YLDA secretariat to coordinate the event.
Delegates from Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Nepal, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand arrive today and will be hosted to a welcome dinner by the SDP in the evening.
