The Young Democrats personally handed over the following condolence letter to Mrs Balaji at the wake in Cheng San CC:

29 September 2010

Dear Mrs Balaji,

My colleagues and I here in the Young Democrats express our sincerest condolences to you and yours in this time of grief and bereavement.

Dr Balaji is best remembered for his work in the field of HIV prevention and detection. His advocacy efforts have served to improve the lot of the stigmatized sufferers of HIV infections and they continue to reap the fruits of his legacy even today.

His sudden demise as a Singaporean, just getting set to leave a glowing legacy, comes as a great loss to the country. As one Singaporean to another, we deeply share in this loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Please accept our deepest condolence.

Yours Sincerely,

Jarrod Luo (on behalf of the Young Democrats)
Honorary Secretary
Young Democrats
