Singapore has appointed a committee to suggest changes to electoral boundaries, signaling that general elections are likely around the corner, Channel News Asia reported on its website Saturday.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong told reporters on the sidelines of the ongoing Asean meeting in Hanoi that the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee has been convened, the report said.
Lee didn’t say by when the committee would submit its report.
Singapore’s general elections are due February 2012 but earlier reports have said they could be advanced to as early as November next year.
