China calls for more personnel exchange with S’pore

Xinhua News

China Tuesday called for more exchange of personnel with Singapore.

“For China, Singapore’s experience in promoting modernization is worth absorbing. We hope to send more cadres to Singapore for study and training,” said Li Yuanchao, head of the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

He made the remarks while meeting a delegation from Singapore led by Yeoh Chee Yan, second permanent secretary of the city-state’s Ministry of Education.

Li, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said China welcomes more Singaporean officials visiting China for exchange and communication.

Boosted exchange and communication will help the two countries learn more about each other and enhance the bilateral friendship, he said.

Li also vowed to promote China-Singapore ties on the basis of friendship, cooperation and innovation.

Yeoh agreed with Li, saying bilateral cooperation in cadre training contributes to the development of the bilateral relationship.
