Singapore Democrats
As the election fever hots up, the Singapore Democrats are ramping up our campaign. This Sunday we are headed to the Bukit Timah Food Centre to meet residents in the vicinity. We want to invite all of you to come along and help us with the massive effort to win the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC. (See details below)
Also we are conducting our Friday Night Pow-wow in our office again and we want to invite you to drop by. We had a good session last week and several people signed up as campaign helpers.
For our Sunday walkabout, we will also be visiting the Ghim Moh housing estate (which is part of the Holland-BT GRC) as well as the Yuhua SMC which we visited two Sundays ago. Transport will be provided to the various venues.
Elections are a big operation. We have been preparing for this GE in earnest since early 2010. We even conducted a dry-run in September last year. Exercise Lightning Block enabled us to gear up our operations and logistics (see report here). More important, it allowed us to pinpoint our weaknesses and to rectify them.

This is how serious we take this elections. All our members and campaign workers are readying themselves for the day the Prime Minister dissolves parliament.
But no matter how much we prepare, we are always short of resources – both human and financial. We appeal to all of you who want to see history achieved with the SDP in parliament to come to our office this Friday and volunteer your help, and also to join us in our walkabout this Sunday.

Let’s give Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, who blew $387 million of our hard-earned money on a disastrously organised Youth Olympic Games and then arrogantly said that given the chance he’d do the same again, a real contest in the GRC.
