Singapore Democrats

As news spreads about Dr Chee Soon Juan trying to raise $30,000 to pay Mr Lee Kuan Yew and Mr Goh Chok Tong, Singaporeans are coming forward to do their part by buying Dr Chee’s books or donating. A website has been set up to facilitate the effort.$CUT$

Dr Chee will also be selling his books Democratically Speaking, A Nation Cheated and The Power of Courage at Raffles Place today (14 Sep) from 12-2pm.

He has been at that location the last two days and friends and supporters have been coming by to purchase the books. Many were alerted to the sales through Facebook and also by word of mouth. Several came from as far away as Jurong, Sembawang and Eunos.

But while the fund-raising is important, Dr Chee also wants Singaporeans to read the book and understand the issues the confront Singapore.

“Of course, it’s important to hit the $30,000 target,” he said, “but equally, if not more, important is that readers read the content and understand the dangers that our country faces if we continue to remain silent about where the PAP is taking us. There should be a real national conversation about this.”
