Not enough transparency on NSmen sent to DB

Dear SDP,

A guy who is NSF (National Service Full-time) was sent to DB (Detention Barracks) just for blogging NS stuff including a list of NS deaths yearly. (Refer to link:

It shows that the NS men’s freedom of speech is denied by MINDEF (Ministry of Defence) when they serve their National Service. Some of them were sent to DB for “disobedience” as MINDEF suppressed their freedom in blogging, tweeting, or posting in the facebook related to NS news.

I hope you can raise awareness of this issue to the public. Such news has been publicised to the netizens. (Refer to link:

MINDEF claimed it would look into the matter after I emailed to it for the enquiry. I doubt the MINDEF would be serious to solve the issue.

Regards,

Jeremiah,
