A record number of teams have signed upfor SDP Futsal Tournament 2013. A number of our friends from theother political parties and civil society will also be participatingin the event. $CUT$
A few of the teams are returning tocompete in this year’s competition. One of them, who call themselvesTeam Unknowns, will be defending their title as champions. The teamto win three championships will get to keep the SDP Challenge Trophyfor good.
This is the third year that thecompetition is held and it is expanding. In all 13 teams will vie forthe cup in the 2013 tournament, up from nine in 2012.
We have also invited political parties, including the People’s Action Party, to join us for some footballfun. So far, the Workers’ Party and the Singapore People’s Party haveindicated that they will participate, albeit in the non-competitionsegment.
Members of F8, an NGO, will also bepresent to add to the fun. We would like to encourage all our friendsfrom civil society to join us. If you can form a team (or even if youcannot), let us know so that we can slot you in. Please contact us atsdp@yoursdp.org.
The non-competitive segment of theevent will be a good occasion for participants to relax and have somefun, and to get to know each other better. We may all have differingviews on various matters but that should not prevent us from comingtogether and having fun. Differences in views don’t have to becomepersonal.
To all our friends, even if you’re nottaking part, please come and join us for the afternoon. Bring alongyour family, it’ll be great to see you again!
