Calling all Singaporeans, let’s get busy!

Singapore Democrats

Every indication points to an early general elections – many even say that it could be as early as September this year. That is just four months away!$CUT$

With the PAP going on its propaganda drive in recent weeks, the above scenario seems a distinct possibility.

This being the case, it would be negligent of the SDP if we did not step up our own preparations for what will be one of the most crucial elections in Singapore’s history.

The Singapore Democrats have not stopped working since the last GE in 2011: We published a series of comprehensive policy papers, we continue to expand our ranks and we have been working tirelessly on the ground.

But as much as we have done, we need to do even more to ensure that we get into Parliament to be your voice.

And we find ourselves in a good position to do so as residents continue to express to us during our weekly house-visits their frustrations of living in a stressful, overcrowded and expensive Singapore.

The cost of living, healthcare costs and transportation woes dominated the list of concerns that residents at the Bukit Panjang estate have when we visited them last week.

But as many residents as we have visited, there remains a large portion whom we have not been able to meet. It is, therefore, with urgency that we call on you, our supporters, to step forward and assist us to reach out to our fellow citizens.

The more people we have, the more voters we can contact and the greater our assurance of getting elected.

Democracy is not a spectator sport. We need every available supporter to help us make the change that we all want to see. Help us make our system transparent and hold the PAP accountable.
