Nothing beats the feel-good,get-together spirit of a community aka the kampungspirit. And the Singapore Democrats want to re-kindle that very Singaporean tradition.$CUT$
That’s why we warmly invite you to join usat the Kampung Kook-Off on 25 November 2012, Sunday, in a first-ever, fun-filled food-fair organised by the opposition.
But this is no ordinary festival. Our members will be selling home-made culinary delights to satisfy even the most critical of foodies.
The highlight of the event is a cook-off where the the participating chefs will vie for the honour of being named Top Democratic Chef. Who says that politics and makan don’t mix?
And who are our judges? Attendees will not only get to feast on the gastronomic delights available but will also get to vote for your favourite stall.
There’ll also be a children’s corner where we’ll have balloon-sculpting and face-painting for our younger friends.
So why not join us and our guests-of-honour, Ms Neo Swee Lin and Mr Lim Kay Siu (pictured), as we spend the daytogether eating, chatting and just having a good time.
In the last several years, you have been at the heart of the SDP’s progress. Without your support, we would not have become the party that you see today. We need to keep going and keep the upward trajectory of our movement.
We know that you share with us the dream of building a democratic and caring Singapore. To do that we need a competent, constructive and compassionate government, and you can be part of the growing force that is shaping the SDP to be that government.
This event meansa lot to the cause. The proceeds will be of great help to usas we expand our effort to better serve the people be it in campaigning on the ground, crafting alternative policies, or upgrading our communications capabilities. With your support, we can be even bigger and better.
Ticketsare priced at $32 and are available for sale online, through our office or friendly party members.Pick up a ticket or two (or better yet, ten). Every little bitis important to us, we need all the support we can get from Singaporeans who believe in what we are doing. Donations are also welcome.
So help us spread the word. Help us make this event a big success and take us that one step closer to our dream of building a proud and democratic Singapore.
