Those of you old enough to remember the 1980s will remember the biggest icon in the world of pop – Michael Jackson. And remember how he rocked the world with his video extravaganza Thriller and sparked the dancing craze?$CUT$
Well, we’ve got both in store for you in our talent show The 80s Flair: A Night To Remember (not MJ but the heart-pounding number Thriller and the dance by the cast of ghouls).
To be performed by the party’s CEC members, the number is set to bring the house down with hip-dislocating gyrations and side-splitting twirls (not to mention laughter).
Then there is the hunk item where our body-builder member Mr Farhan will trot out on stage to show-off his washboard abs and ginormous biceps. He will be joined by some of our other members who will also flex their muscles (politically speaking, of course).
And have you seen anyone do 60 Chinese push-ups (which are harder to do than the standard push-ups) in one minute? Dr Rano Izhar Rahmat, a doctorate in exercise physiology, head of the International Fitness Professional Association and President of the Singapore Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation, will be performing some incredible feats of silat skill and strength.
All this and more on 17 Aug when the SDP hosts our fund-raising dinner. Tickets are available at $50 and will include a buffet dinner. We urge all of you, our friends and supporters, to buy tickets and help us raise funds for our on-going work.
Bring your family and friends and come say hello to Michael and friends.
