Healthcare experts in Singapore have stressed their country’s excellent medical industry and proximity to the Middle East as major incentives for Muslims to visit that Southeast Asian city-state for physical treatment, reported Khaleej Times.
Having a multi-cultural society in which 15 per cent of its population is Muslim, Singapore offers Muslim patients specialized treatment and services such as same-gender doctors, halal menus, separate prayer rooms for men and women, and even travel, transport and interpreter.
A press statement from Singapore Medicine, a multi-agency composed of government and industry representatives said that that the country would likely attract one million patients from all over the world by 2012. Last year it had 410,000 foreign patients.
